Q had been spending most of his time in the computer lab since it had opened up, really only taking breaks for tea and to feed the cats. As frustrating as the network here was, it felt good to have something to try and take apart, and last night... Well, last night he might have fallen asleep in the lab.

"Oh, good morning Harry," he greeted, smiling warmly and steadying himself. "Apologies, I'm at least one cup of tea shy of being human."

Harry bent his head, and kissed Q's neck. "I've never even had a conventional relationship," he confessed.

"Neither have I, not really," Q confessed with a soft gasp. "The few relationships I have had- They were very much unconventional."

Though at least this one seemed healthy so far.

Holding onto Harry, Q's grip tightened slightly as he pressed closer still, practically climbing into Harry's lap.

He didn't seem to be drinking it, so Harry took the cup from Q's hand and set it aside on the table, then pulled Q entirely onto his lap. "Mmmm that might even make me feel better if I weren't more than twice your age." He kissed Q's neck again. "But I'll just... continue to pinch myself."

"Age is a trivial thing in the long run, Harry," Q pointed out with a content sigh, tilting his head slightly in offering as his fingers roamed over his shoulders, tugging lightly at Harry's clothes. "We're grown men, we're happy- Or I hope we all are- That's all that matters to me."

"Do you think James is happy too?" Harry asked, because he really did want to know what Q thought. Harry didn't know James very well, and in many ways he was still very much an enigma.

"Bond would make it known if he wasn't. But yes, I do. I believe James is very happy. If anything, this arrangement is ideal for him. He's not much of a one lover sort of man, not really," Q admitted.

That part did not surprise Harry in the least. Of course, he and James hadn't done anything outside the context of Q... not yet, anyway.

"And you?" Harry asked softly, bringing a hand to Q's face again. "You're happy?"

"I am," Q replied honestly, leaning back to get a good look at Harry. "I feel... Loved. Safe. Those are precious feelings to me, things to hold onto tightly."

“I’ve never had this before either,” Harry said quietly. “As unconventional as this is, it’s also... normal in a way I haven’t really experienced.”

He’d never been in love, certainly. Was he now? He wasn’t even sure he would know.

"For me as well," Q nodded, looking thoughtful as he toyed gently with Harry's hair. "I'd go as far as to say my past relationships ranged from unhealthy to abusive."

He frowned then, and wet his lips. "Does that worry you at all? The fact that this is so new?"

"I don't think worried is the right word," said Harry gently. He closed his eyes for a moment as he enjoyed the feeling of Q's fingers in his hair, then opened them again and looked at him. "It took some time, but I have come around to believing that you really do want me. Both of you, even."

"Mmm, Bond is keen, it seems. Makes me a bit jealous, if I'm honest," Q confessed. "I do worry that I'll eventually be nudged out of the way."

Harry looked genuinely surprised at that comment. "Q, I really don't think there's any danger of that happening. For one... you and he have clearly been heading in this direction for a long time. If I weren't here, I think you'd still be together. And for another, I..." He hesitated. Brought a hand to his face again. "You know how I feel about you."

"Fears don't have to be rational," Q replied, closing his eyes as he leaned into the touch.

Harry wasn't entirely sure what to say to that... so he tilted Q's head and leaned in to kiss him.

Returning the kiss, Q sighed softly into it. It was a content little sound, one accompanied by soft touches and silent encouragement as he rocked gently on Harry's lap.

Harry slid a hand up into Q's hair, so enjoying the feeling of his fingers sliding through it. He loved Q's hair. It was a contrast to close-cropped military norms.

When the kiss broke, Harry tilted Q's head a little so that he could kiss his throat. "This feels so indulgent," he murmured.

"Mmm, well if I'm to benefit, feel free to indulge all you like," Q murmured, content to be petted and kissed. The boffin was a bit spoiled that way really.

"You're wearing far too many clothes," he complained.

Harry put his hands on either side of Q's waist, and easily lifted him, turning them so that he laid Q back on the bed, and then Harry straddled his waist as he pulled off his shirt and tossed it to the side.

Q laughed as he settled in on his back, smiling up at the other man and letting his hands roam over Harry's chest.

This was actually the first time they'd done this, just... the two of them. It felt special. Harry wanted it to be special.

He caught one of Q's hands and brought it to his lips, kissing his fingers. "I'm so lucky," he said softly.

"Nearly as lucky as me," Q smiled, eyes fluttering shut at the gentle kiss.

Harry dropped Q's hand and then dragged his fingers lightly across Q's chest, down lower, just barely brushing against his cock.

The boffin let out a quiet little gasp, hips lifting slightly. Q wasn't bashful about being wanton, wasn't quiet when it came to desire. As buttoned up as he could be a lot of the time, in the bedroom he rarely held back, even when he was feeling shy or uncertain.
