Bond

Contrary to appearance, Q did, occasionally, work out. Today was one of those rare days, and the boffin was dressed in soft and loose looking trousers and little else as he lay on the floor doing crunches. He was all skin and bone, no threat to anyone, but it made him feel slightly less vulnerable. Less weak.

He paused when the door to the cabin opened, looking a bit embarrassed but soon carrying on.

"Sorry, I'll be done in a moment," he assured the double-o. "I don't mean to be in the way."

Q seemed unsettled by that and drew away slightly.

Even as a joke, he didn't like the idea of James killing civilians.

"Come on, Q...I'm joking," he said, then shook his head. "Why are you so nervous? You won't get in trouble. Not with anyone here."

"It just feels dangerous being so open and casual about it," Q admitted.

"If we were in London, I'd agree with you. But here?"

He shook his head.

"Nothing's going to happen, Q. Nothing ever happens."

"I thought that when we returned to London," Q countered. "That I was safe. ...I was wrong."

"Yes, I understand, but SPECTRE isn't here, Q. We've been here how long? And the most dangerous things are when the mist rolls back...and that's easily avoided by not exploring. As for here, us, no one's a threat. I promise. I've sized them all up. Really, only Harry would be a challenge, and he's on our side," Bond said calmly, being quite rational.

"I know. I know that, I do, I just- It's very hard to be rational in the aftermath," Q confessed.

"If we were home, you'd be in therapy. They put me in therapy quite a bit until She realized it was a waste of everyone's time," Bond replied.

"Then thank god we're here, because I'm not going to therapy," Q huffed.

"You could talk it out, though. With me or Harry, or you could find someone outside our little drama," he suggested gently.
