Harry was back at his headquarters, and Q was back in Q branch, while James was most likely in Mallory's office. It was still strange being back in London, strange being back at work so soon after being taken, and the sympathetic looks from Tanner and the rest of the boffin's hadn't escaped Q's notice. In fact they'd only encouraged him to go hide himself away in his office, rather than the lab. He had plenty of paperwork to keep him busy after all, the gadgets could wait a day longer.

The stack of papers sat beside him untouched, however, and he instead found himself flicking through the security feeds, searching for James.

Bond wasn't about to argue that. Q was stronger than anyone realized, he was certain.

He put the car in gear and pulled into traffic. He didn't drive like a maniac, mostly because he had to be very kind to his left arm.

"Do you just want to go home and have dinner delivered?" he asked.

"I can order now, if you'd like," Q offered, already pulling his phone out and tapping away.

"Excellent," he smiled, headed directly for Q's flat.

It wasn't a long drive, and soon enough they were heading up to Q's flat. Inside was warm and inviting, the two cats, who Q had made a point of fetching, each curled up on either end of the sofa. Bookshelves were filled with bits of tech, rather than actual books, and Q quickly scurried over to the sofa to close the laptop he'd left open that morning.

"Um, I'm going to get changed. The food should be here shortly, make yourself at home though," he offered before wandering off to the bedroom.

Unsure of where the evening might go, he quickly put away some of his more private things, tucking them away in a large trunk tucked in his closet.

He took Q's words to heart and went into the kitchen. He put the kettle on, sure Q would want tea...then he began to poke around looking for a drink.

Q emerged wearing soft grey pyjamas, and he watched James for a long moment before speaking. It was so strange to see him here, in his house, in his cupboards, looking at his mug collection.

"I'm afraid you'll only find wine. ...White, mostly, in the fridge. I don't drink very often to be honest."

Bond looked him, gaze raking up and down, then he smiled.

"Would you mind opening a bottle? I can't do it one handed."

"I didn't realize your injury was still so bad," Q frowned. "How impaired is that arm? Do you need to return to medical?"

He'd been so charmed by the idea of having Bond in his flat, already playing out little fantasies in his mind- They all vanished then, instantly.

"Perhaps instead of a drink you should take your pills and have some tea," he decided.

"I'm tired of those pills. I can't think clearly," he said. Then he stepped in close and held Q's waist with two strong hands.

"It moves just fine. It's just a bit weak. Give it a few more days and I'll be fine."

"If you can't open a bottle, you should be in PT," Q scolded, brushing the hands away. "You know better. ...Especially if there is a threat at large."

"I've been in PT enough to know all the exercises. No need to waste anyone's time," he replied smoothly.

"Don't fuss, Q."

"Fussing is part of my job," Q huffed, only to be interrupted by Beta, who came over to demand a meal.

"Fuss over your darlings, not this old dog," he replied. The cat purred loudly, demanding to be the sole focus of attention.

Q was still frowning, but he did relent, picking up the cat and whistling for the other's attention as he set about plating their food.

"You spoil them, you know," he smiled.

"They deserve to be spoiled. They're perfect," Q said, speaking in a soft and cooing tone.

Bond chuckled softly and gave Beta a bit of a pet as well.

"How long until the food arrives?" Bond asked.

[cuppa_q]

"Should be here any moment," Q assured him, finishing up with the cats and then moving closer to James, wanting to touch him.

It was natural as breathing to snake his arm around Q's waist and pull him close.

"You keep looking at me like that and it will just get cold once it arrives," he threatened.

"I wouldn't mind that," the boffin admitted, running his hands gently down James' arms.

Bond kissed him then, bold and full of heat and passion. Q drove him wild. Even the smallest hint of desire made Bond ache for more. For everything.

Q let out a startled sound into the kiss, but he returned it without hesitation, moaning into it and pressing closer.

James had a way of making him forget himself. Of leaving him wanton and desperate in an instant.

He tilted his head and deepened the kiss, his hands grabbing at Q's pyjamas. His tongue tasted every coner of the other man's mouth and he growled softly.

There was a buzz on the security comm and Bond broke the kiss.

"That's going to be the food," he murmured.

"Damn," Q whispered, sighing as he reluctantly let go.

Bond moved around him to get the food from the delivery boy, a boy who couldn't be a day over sixteen. He brought it back into the kitchen and put it aside on the counter.

"I'm starving," Bond said, grabbing Q once again and pushing his back against the refrigerator so he could kiss him savagely.
