Q wasn't completely clear on what was happening with the board. All he knew was there had been some sort of scandal, and that Henry Devon was stepping down and that Victor Rooks had been invited to take his place. ...And that the man had requested a brief one on one with him. What Q didn't know, however, was that the scandal had been orchestrated by Rooks himself, after having learned about Bond's new found influence on his son.
The man was prompt, and Q returned to his office to find Vincent waiting.
"Dr. Mills," Rooks smiled, rising from his seat and offering his hand. "A pleasure to finally meet you. I fear we didn't have much chance to speak at Dr. Lecter's dinner party.
Q smiled, taking the offered hand and shaking before inviting the man to sit again.
The meeting was brief, and Q was thrilled to learn that Rooks was eager to invest in overhauling the part of A&E not covered by the pediatric expansion, as well as the ambulance bay. All he wanted in return was to have it all named in his honour. Something Q was more than happy to agree to. Rooks even offered to have paperwork done and the funds transferred while they went and had lunch at a restaurant the man favoured. Q generally had his lunch in his office, but the man was already discussing how he'd like to have the morgue done up next, and Q had been desperate to even get the board to consider adding that to his personal wish list for the hospital.
How could he say no?
As a result his lunch ran a bit late, and he had found himself texting James, telling the other man to head home without him, that he'd see him tonight.
He was in a sparkling mood by the time he got home though, looking around for Harry, who seemed to be working late, then finding Bond in his room.
"You'll never believe what happened today!" the young doctor grinned, practically pouncing on James.
